What are the best surf spots in Bali?

What are best surf spots in Bali? Often asked question, that brings no answers and just more questions. What is "best"?

From hidden beaches to places you might've never heard of, this list will save you some time researching it yourself. Maybe, this might even help you discover your new favourite spot to surf in Bali.

1. Nusa Lembongan: Shipwrecks

Take a fast boat from Bali, and in only half an hour, ride one of our favourite swells in Nusa Lembongan called Shiprecks. The wave is located on the northwestern side of Nusa Lembongan and breaks over a shallow reef about 500 meters from shore. Is it a wild wave? Yes, it is. But hey, you have to risk to feel what comes after!

2. Nyang Nyang

Wether you surf or not you are going to love Nyang Nyang beach. Wait... is it the beach where guys are taking pics on abandoned private jet? Yes it is!

But let's get back to surf. Nyang Nyang is undoubtedly the most beautiful spot on the island to catch a wave. Nyang Nyang beach picks up swell from any direction and works best during the wet season. But watch out, because coral reef is pretty damn sharp here.

3. Balangan / Bingin

Beach shacks, cows, coconuts, palm trees and clear blue swell. If it's not a dream it's Balangan beach.

Balangan is a popular surf spot located on the south coast of Bali, Indonesia. It is known for its long, consistent waves and beautiful sandy beach. The beach is located just east of the larger and more crowded surf spot of Kuta, making it a good option for surfers who are looking for a more laid-back atmosphere. Balangan is a great spot for both experienced surfers and beginners!

4. Green Bowl

If you're looking for that "OMG" reaction - this is your spot.

Green Ball is a punchy right-hander that is typically only surfable during the wet season or early mornings during the dry season. However the view from the ocean is simply breathtaking. Oh and it takes over 300 steps to get down to this beautiful beach, so you better get ready for it!

5. Echo Beach

Echo Beach, also known as Pantai Batu Mejan, is a popular surf spot in Canggu, Bali, Indonesia. It's located on the southwestern coast of the island, about 20 minutes from the town of Seminyak. The beach is known for its long, consistent waves and is popular among intermediate and advanced surfers. Echo Beach is also a popular spot for sunbathing, swimming, and watching the sunset.

Once you've surfed the wave of your life, there is nothing better than getting into your comfy underwear, putting on your dry clothes, and letting the day go by in one of the beach warungs. Talking to locals, newly met friends surfers, and enjoying the moment. Doing it all in comfort and joy.
